happy thanksgiving! and other news

Just a few things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving:

1. Awesomely supportive family and friends

2. Awesomely enthusiastic neighbors at the new shop

3. My awesome pup

4. A day off! My first since re-opening two weeks ago.

The list goes on, but I’ll cut the cheese and just tell you some exciting things going on at the shop.

Today! Wednesday, 11/23, from 4-7pm. Sidesaddle Kitchen is going to be here for a Slices and Cider pop-up! She’ll have slices of maple pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and chile chocolate torte for sale. Getcha some!

Also, very very exciting!! I’ve teamed up with Galen of Town Cutler to bring some cutlery goodness to the Mission! You can now find the very exclusive and very excellent Zanmai knives at Pot + Pantry. Hooray for local small biz collaborations!

Lastly, my newest contributor post is up on Rena’s blog. In case you want a last-minute retail tip before signing off for turkey day.

Thank you, everyone, for your support the last 12 months (1 year!). You believe in me! And I’m so, so thankful for that. Happy Thanksgiving!

bike basket pies

Natalie of Bike Basket Pies may have moved on from making (and delivering) her delicious handheld pies, but she hasn’t forgotten her legions of adoring fans. Come to Pot + Pantry to celebrate the launch of her self-published recipe booklet, Bike Basket Pies: How to Make Handheld Pies for Bicycle Delivery!

common good

New in the new shop: Common Good dish soap and all-purpose cleaner (not pictured). Pot + Pantry is the first retailer in California to carry this fine new Brooklyn-based brand. Cute packaging, and they actually work very well to boot. You can purchase them online here.

back in business

Hoo boy! At one point, I didn’t think I was going to make it through this alive. But somehow (it’s a miracle, really), it got done and the store is open. We’re open!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the opening celebration! We had a great turnout, and it made my sleepless nights all worth it. I was so touched that many very busy friends made the time to come by to wish me well and check out the space. It makes me a bit emotional, so I’ll just say a simple “thank you” and leave it at that.

I actually remembered to bring my camera this time, but, naturally, I couldn’t remember where I placed it once the party started. So once again, I have no photos of my own to share, and once again, I stole the above from Kate (thanks, Kate!).

Endless gratitude to hubbardfoss for making my shop design dreams come true, and to Black Jet Baking Co for the dope cookies and pop tarts. I’ll have some up-close-and-personal pics of the new store fixtures next week!

shopwarming party: the details

I can’t believe we’re opening so soon! I can’t wait, can’t wait.

From 5-8p this Thursday at our new location at 593 Guerrero Street, come by and enjoy complimentary sweet treats from Black Jet Baking Co., assorted beverages, and best of all…10% off the entire store! There will be a nifty little gift with purchase as well.* It may look a little something like this:

Be there!!

*while supplies last :)

three days and a thank you

Three more days until our re-opening! We’ve been working more or less around the clock to get things ready and it’s looking great! Much more still to be done, of course. But at this moment when I’m feeling exhausted and sick (my voice is gone, completely gone! how am I going to yell at UPS with a whisper?), I’m feeling especially grateful for the help I’m getting in executing my vision for the new and improved Pot + Pantry. It would absolutely, definitely, without a doubt not be possible without the help of my buddy Rick Hubbard at hubbardfoss. Some of his beautiful past work below, to give you a vague (hopefully titillating) taste of what’s to come at 593 Guerrero. From the bottom of my puny little heart, thank you, Rick and friends!

I’ll have more details to share tomorrow about Thursday’s opening party!

sidesaddle kitchen workshop

What would I do without Kate? I’ve lost touch with reality in my mad rush to get the new shop in order, but she gently reminded me that tickets for our upcoming workshop with Laura of Sidesaddle Kitchen will be available today at 10am. She created that lovely image above for it, too.

Raw vegan desserts! Not just for hippies anymore. Raw vegan-curious are welcome, too.

UPDATE: So, wow, that didn’t last long! The event is already sold out, but you can always be added to the waitlist. Leave a comment or email me to get your name added!
